Don’t believe me? Then have a read of this, my friends…

The Benefits of Going on a Solo Date

Despite solo dates being a little bit daunting, they’re actually incredibly beneficial when it comes to your own personal growth. See, when you start going on solo dates, you’ll find –

  • Solo dates also push you outside your comfort zone…
  • As a result, they can really help you to grow in confidence.
  • Solo dates can help you to become more independent- demonstrating EXACTLY just how much you can do by yourself, without having to rely on anyone else!
  • They also encourage self-discovery. “Dating yourself” is a great way to learn more about yourself. You’ll find you get to know yourself far better, far faster.
  • Similarly, solo dates can promote a sense of self love. In fact, regularly doing solo dates is one of the best self love habits you can develop. You learn how to become your own best friend whilst valuing yourself and appreciating your own company.
  • Solo dates give you a chance to do things that you enjoy, without any external pressure or expectations. You’re not trying to please anyone else. You’re just doing things for yourself.
  • Now of course, the more comfortable you become with solo dates, the more valuable they become. In time, they can even become a valuable form of self care – offering an opportunity to relax, recharge and reconnect with yourself. (Nope, it’s not too good to be true!)
  • In essence – solo dates can be incredibly empowering, so what better time to start dating yourself than NOW?!

I’ve mixed up some smaller solo date ideas – perfect for midweek, as well as bigger activities – perfect for weekends. So pick and choose.

Start by scheduling your first couple of spring solo dates now – whether that’s for this week or next. Start with the ones that are the easiest for you. Then build it up from there.

1) Have a Spring Picnic

Whether you head to the local park or do yourself a cute little picnic in the comfort of your garden at home, take the time and effort to put together a delicious little spread, purely for yourself; all packed into a gorgeous woven wicker picnic basket.

2, Feed Ducks In The Park

Talking of parks – if you don’t fancy a picnic date there, it’s one to add to your list regardless!

Take a book, sit back and relax, people watch, make daisy chains, and see if you can feed the ducks whilst you’re at it. It makes for a very pleasant day.

Ducks typically lay eggs and hatch their chicks during the spring and early summer, with ducklings appearing from roughly late March to July, so if you’re lucky – you may manage to spot some!
